This conversation focuses on a plan as to if or when your parents may be ready to sell their house and where they may want to live for their remaining years.

Discuss what to do with the possessions in the house. Determine what is valuable and create an inventory. This will help to decide what should be sold, gifted, willed or thrown away.




CareCARE

Determine who will act as the caregiver, identify what your parents expect for their care, learn what your parents’ requests are in terms of their medical treatments. Discuss facilities and locate one should the time occur when your parents need to be placed in a nursing home or assisted living. Have a conversation about long term care, powers of attorney and who the agents should be and estate planning.
